Tired of American  trap? Look no further than Crossville Gun Range for International / Olympic Bunker Trap.

Bunker Trap

Unlike American Trap, which uses one oscillating machine to throw targets at 45 mph, International Trap uses 15 fixed-angle machines to throw targets at up to 65 mph, and at wider angles than American Trap. Shooters also get two shots per target without penalty, though American Trap shooters may find it challenging to fire two shots because of the targets’ increased speed.

Each round goes as follows: There are six shooters, one to each station, with the sixth shooter starting at a holding station immediately behind shooter number one. At the beginning of first round, test firing is allowed at the referee’s permission. Upon receiving the start signal, the first shooter has ten seconds to call for his target. After firing at his target (each shooter gets two shots per target), the first shooter waits for the shooter number two to complete firing, then moves to station two, with the shooter on station six moving to station one. Our computer-controlled program delivers ten left, ten right, and five straight-away targets to each competitor, giving them the same targets to shoot but each in a unique randomized sequence. This procedure continues through the squad until the completion of the round.

International Trap is the same style that is shot in the Olympics. Olympic Trap is an international discipline known for challenging even the most skilled shooters. Targets have a minimum height of 1.5 meters and a maximum height of 3.0 meters as measured 10 meters in front of the bunker. Targets are thrown between 60 and 65 mph (depending on the target height) to reach the required 76-meter distance. The maximum target angle is 45 degrees, a wider angle than American Trap. There are nine set programs for the fifteen traps that are used internationally. A squad of six shooters takes turns shooting from five stations.

If you’ve mastered American Trap Shooting, or if you’re a little bored with it and looking to challenge yourself, we invite you to try Bunker Trap the same way Olympians from around the world do it. Perfect for casual shooters looking for fun, competitive shooters looking to improve, or groups looking to have a great time while they shoot something new, our Bunker Trap might be the most fun you can have with a shotgun in Tennessee.
